About the Presenters

Laura Nordine

I'm Laura Nordine, the school counselor at Vogel Elementary School in Evansville, Indiana.  I have been a school counselor for 8 years.  Prior to becoming an elementary school counselor, I taught middle school math for 6 years.  I have worked in both Indiana and Kentucky.  I recently had the amazing experience of attending ASCA as a conference ambassador and loved every second of it!! I am very passionate about connecting with other school counselors, sharing ideas and continuously growing as a counselor.  Outside of work, I love to spend time with my amazing family.  I have a 4 year old son, 2 year old daughter, amazing, supportive husband and a mini goldendoodle.  We travel often, enjoy crafting, and gardening together!

Tomoko Lahee
My name is Tomoko Lahee-Thompson. I'm the school counselor at Caze Elementary School in Evansville, Indiana, and this is my 8th school year. I grew up as a military brat and was born in Yokota Air Force Base, Japan. After my dad retired, we moved to Santa Claus, Indiana, until I graduated. I attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, and received both my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and my Master of Education in School Counseling. I've had the privilege of attending ASCA twice and have learned an incredible amount of useful skills, including creating my own time tracker for counselors using google sheets. I love building connections with our students and families and learning anything that will help me grow as a counselor! Outside of school, I spend time with my husband and our two daughters. I also love to crochet anything related to Pokemon and to travel!
