About ISCA

The Indiana School Counselor Association (ISCA) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) professional organization serving Indiana school counselors.  ISCA promotes student success by expanding the image and influence of professional school counseling through advocacy, professional development, leadership, collaboration and systemic change. ISCA helps school counselors guide their students toward academic achievement, personal and social development, and career planning to help today’s students become tomorrow’s responsible and contributing citizens.

  • Founded in 1965, ISCA is an organization recognized by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).
  • The Association, in collaboration with the ASCA, publishes the e-Newsletter The Indiana School Counselor.
  • ISCA also provides the ISCA Calendar/Planner for all Indiana school counselors
  • Maintains the ISCA website, www.indianaschoolcounselor.org
  • ISCA supports the Indiana Gold Star Program, which provides guidelines for designing and implementing comprehensive, developmental school counseling programs and meeting the Indiana Guidance and Counseling Standards. 
  • ISCA maintains a strong organizational structure with ASCA approved bylaws and regularly reviews the ASCA ethics standards for Indiana school counselors through professional development.
  • ISCA has a membership of approximately 600 school counseling professionals.

The Indiana School Counselor Association (ISCA) empowers school counselors and school counseling graduate students to provide comprehensive school counseling programs through advocacy, collaboration, professional leadership, and student-centered data-supported practices.

The mission of the Indiana School Counselor Association is to support school counselors as they advance the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students.
